Description

This design adapts the concept of my Healing Hand into a heart form, using variations of red and magenta to create a vibrant, emotional piece. Created using Formline, the traditional visual language of Tlingit art, the heart shape features the characteristic spiraling inward motion that symbolizes the journey toward wellness and inner balance.

Formline is the sophisticated design system developed by Northwest Coast Native peoples, characterized by flowing, precisely shaped elements: ovoids, U-forms, and S-forms that connect in specific ways to create harmonious compositions. These elements follow traditional rules of form and space while allowing for creative expression.

The heart symbolizes emotional healing and connection, while the warm color palette evokes feelings of love, passion, and vitality. This piece represents how traditional artistic practices can express universal human experiences through culturally specific visual languages.
